नेपाल शहरी शासकीय तथा पूर्वाधार आयोजना, बबरमहल, काठमाडौँ - (NUGIP)
नेपाल सरकार तथा विश्व बैङ्क बीच नेपालको संविधान 2072 अनुसार राज्यको पुनर्संचना भई तीन तहको सरकार गठनभएपछि संघिय सरकार द्वारा Overall Project को व्यवस्थापन तथा Monitoring गर्ने तथा स्थानिय तह द्वारा प्रत्यक्ष रुपमा कार्यक्रम कार्यन्वयन गर्ने गरी नेपाल शहरी शासकिय तथा पूर्वाधार आयोजना सन्चालन गर्न2077 मंसिर 3 गते US $ 150 millionको ऋण सम्झौता भएको छ। यस आयोजनामा मुख्यता तीन वटा component रहेको छन् जसमध्ये पहिलो component पूर्वी क्लस्टरका 9 वटा नगरपालिका तथा पश्चिम क्लस्टरका 8 वटा नगरपालिका गरि कूल 17 वटा नगरपालिकाहरुमा Urban development Grant दिई शहरी पूर्वाधारहरु निर्माण गर्ने, दोस्रो component उपरोक्त 17 नगरपालिकाहरुमा र अन्य 4 नगरपालिकाहरुको शासकिय क्षमता वढाउन विभिन्न क्रियाकलाप सन्चालन गर्ने रहेको छ। यस आयोजनाको तेस्रो component covid -19 पछिको Response कार्यमा कोभिड-19 द्वारा प्रभावित 12 वटा नगरपालिकामा आर्थिक गतिविधिहरु उकास्न नगरपालिकाहरु बाट निर्धारत श्रम मूलक कार्यक्रम सन्चालन गरी covid-19 मा आय आर्जन गुमाइएका, विदेशबाट रोजगारी गुमाइएका लगायत अन्य प्रभावितहरुलाई न्यूतम एकजनाले 50 दिनको श्रम मूलक कार्य (Labor Intensive Public Work) गर्ने गरी कार्यक्रम सन्चालन गर्नु रहेको छ। यस सम्पूर्ण आयोजना अन्तर्गत First Component Urban Development Grant को कार्य सञ्चालन गर्ने July 15, 2025 सम्म समय रहेको छ। यो Urban Development Grant को component मा 17 वटा नगरपालिकामा कुल लगानी 115 million US Dollar ( रु 14 अर्ब 3 करोड ) आगामि 4 बर्षमा लगानी गरिने छ र यो Urban development Grant द्वारा नगरपालिका मा आवश्यक शहरी पूर्वाधारहरुको निर्माण कार्य हुने तथायस सम्पूर्ण आयोजना को म्याद July 15, 2025 सम्म रहेता पनि यस कोभिड-19 को Response गर्ने Labor Intensive Public Work component को कार्य Dec 31, 2023 सम्म यी 12 वटा नगरपालिकाहरुमा करिब 2 अर्ब 44 करोड खर्च गरी कार्यन्वयन गरिने छ। Website Link:- http://nugip.dudbc.gov.np/

Regional Urban Development Project (RUDP), financially supported by Asian Development Bank (ADB, Loan 3566-NEP). The project is designed to set foundations for regional economic development by stimulating the economic potentials of the Project areas, and thus, help those municipalities come out as an economic corridor and urban cluster conglomeration. Additionally, the Project is expected to improve resilience and delivery of urban services in all Project municipalities and also achieve a sustainable, inclusive, balanced, and prosperous sub-national urban system in Nepal. Biratnagar, Birgunj, Nepalgunj, and Siddharthanagar municipalities have each established project implementation units. For the four municipalities of Godawari, Bheemdatt, Dhangadhi, and Shuklaphanta, a regional FPIU is established in the DUDBC Division of Federal Kailali in Dhangadhi. सुरक्षित भवन निर्माणका लागि नेपाल राष्ट्रिय भवन संहिता पालना प्रवर्द्धन परियोजना - (NBCC)
From May 2015 to April 2018, the Ministry of Urban Development (hereinafter referred to as “MoUD”) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (hereinafter referred to as “Nepal”) implemented the “Project for the Assessment of Earthquake Disaster Risk for the Kathmandu Valley” with the cooperation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (hereinafter referred to as “JICA”). The results of the risk assessment project revealed that if central Nepal south scenario earthquake would happen, more than 270,000 buildings (approximately 62%) would be damaged and more than 1,200,000 people (approximately 42% of the population) would be forced to evacuate in the Kathmandu Valley. This shows that the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings is inevitable to reduce the risk against future earthquake damages. Facing hazards and risks, the government of Nepal has drafted the “National Plan of Action for Safer Building Construction: NaPA” and makes the effort to mainstream disaster-resilient buildings in 20 years. In August 2020, the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (hereinafter referred to as “DUDBC”) has revised the Nepal National Building Code (hereinafter referred to as “NNBC”) 105: Seismic Design of the Buildings in Nepal, and has been enhancing regulations for compliance of building code in new buildings. However, in the Kathmandu Valley, while the mainstream structure of new buildings after the 2015 earthquake has shifted from masonry construction to reinforced concrete (RC) structure, constructions have been different from building design drawings in many cases. This is mostly due to lack of awareness and knowledge regarding legal compliance among the building owners and contractors. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the capacity of design checking and construction inspection by the municipalities, capacity of supervision by the architect and engineers, capacity of quality control by the contractors, and the awareness of stakeholders. To contribute to improve above situation, the Nepal government requested the Japanese government for the Project. Following the request, JICA implemented the detailed planning survey from February to September 2020. Subsequently, JICA discussed the framework of the Project based on the request and survey result, and concluded the Record of Discussions (hereinafter referred to as “R/D”) related to the Project with MoUD in November 2020.
